Salary: $30.00 per hour
Schedule: 8-hour shift
- Assemble and install various types of wiring, equipment, and coils for electric motors or transformers according to drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Diagnose, test, and observe electrical, electronic, and mechanical components and systems using testing and measuring instruments.
- Perform static or dynamic balancing of armatures or rotors.
- Perform on-site servicing and repair.
- Troubleshoot and repair electric motors, transformers, switchgear, generators, and other electromechanical equipment.
- Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects and the need for adjustment or repair and to ensure compliance with codes.
- Conduct repairs disassembling transmission unit and replacing broken or worn parts, such as seals, bearings, gears, and valves among other things.
- Replace or recondition shafts, bearings, commutators, and other components.
- Perform machining to recondition or modify shafts, commutators, or other parts.
- Test and repair or replace faulty wiring or components in electrical switchgear.
- Test repaired motors, transformers, switchgear, or other electrical apparatus to ensure proper performance.
- Keep the work area and all tools clean and organized.
Qualifications
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
- 3 years to less than 5 years’ experience with armoured and custom-made luxury vehicles.
- Knowledge of machinery, hydraulic, electrical, and other systems.
- Additional experience in an automotive OEM quality environment to ensure proper performance and compliance with standards, including but not limited to ISO9001, VPAM, STANAG, health and safety and other standards.
- Ability to follow established procedures and practices and read instructions, blueprints, etc.
