The latest iteration of the model is built upon the TNGA-F platform, which also serves as the foundation for vehicles like the Land Cruiser 300 Series, Lexus GX SUVs, Toyota Tundra, and Toyota Tacoma pickups.
The global offering of the new Land Cruiser Prado encompasses a variety of petrol and diesel powertrain options, marking the debut of a hybrid variant.
For the Australian market, the confirmed powertrain comprises a 2.8-liter four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine coupled with a 48V mild-hybrid system, delivering 150kW of power and 500Nm of torque. This setup mirrors the mild-hybrid configuration anticipated for certain HiLux models next year. The Prado is 8-Speed Automatic transmission and a full-time 4WD system.
The Land Cruiser Prado will have several powertrain choices available such as a 2.4L turbocharged 4-cylinder gasoline-electric hybrid, a 2.4L turbocharged 4-cylinder gasoline, a non-mild-hybrid 2.8L 4-cylinder turbo-diesel, and a 2.7L naturally aspirated 4-cylinder gasoline engine.
The LandCruiser Prado incorporates an electric power steering system that mitigates loss of steering control during off-road driving, enhances low-speed maneuverability, and facilitates Lane Tracing Assist. Additional attributes consist of a stabilizer disconnect mechanism (a first for Toyota), Multi-Terrain monitor and Multi-Terrain Select drive modes, as well as a Crawl Control mode.
Relative to its predecessor, the new SUV’s dimensions have expanded. It is 100mm longer at 4925mm, 95mm wider at 1980mm, and 20mm taller at 1870mm. The wheelbase has also extended by 60mm to 2850mm. This positions it nearly on par with the Land Cruiser 300 in terms of size.
The new LandCruiser Prado will be available in both 5 and 7 seat configurations.
Beyond its visually striking aspects, the Land Cruiser Prado ensures exceptional security with its 360-degree perimeter protection, ballistic glass, run-flat system, reinforced suspension, and more. This armored vehicle instills a profound sense of confidence and peace of mind, ensuring unwavering protection during your exploratory journeys, regardless of the challenges that may arise.
Multiple add-ons and upgrades are available to make this armored vehicle suitable for any mission requirement.
