INKAS® Armored Vehicle Provide Bullet Proof Reliability
September 5, 2014
In the armored vehicle business, bullet-proof glass is often referred to as “transparent armor” or “ballistic glass.” Bullet proof glass can be manufactured in varying thicknesses allowing it to be rated to withstand attacks from high-caliber assault rifles, sniper rifles and even heavier artillery such as RPGs.
Transparent armor is similar to the safety glass found in the side windows of standard cars; the only difference is that bullet proof glass is made up of a sandwich of polycarbonate and leaded glass. The result is a glass-like material that is thicker and safer than normal glass.
In terms of window protection, INKAS® armored vehicles for sale employ a new generation of bulletproof glass, which is more transparent in comparison with other ballistic glass available on the market all while maintaining the necessary ballistic properties. If live bullets were to be fired into INKAS® bullet proof windows, it would pierce the outside layer of the glass, but the layer of tough plastic would absorb the bullet’s energy and stop it before it could exit the final layer of glass.
