Huron® is a unique APC vehicle in terms of technical specifications, design, and assembly. The vehicle is characterized by a high level of maneuverability and is extremely lightweight relative to its size. It incorporates revolutionary lightweight armor which increases its mobility and speed performance in comparison with the other similarly-sized vehicles in the market. Huron’s well-proven off-road capabilities are supported by a 6.7L Turbo Diesel Engine and a 10-speed automatic or manual transmission. The OEM body of the vehicle was replaced with a fully re-designed body by INKAS® Armored Vehicle Manufacturing that incorporates heat and noise insulation materials providing an unprecedented level of comfort to its occupants.
The vehicle’s ballistic design and special armor protection are aimed to maximize its ability to protect passengers in any environment and allow the vehicle to endure high levels of attacks while maintaining its full performance. Huron’s perimeter armoring of the passenger compartment and the engine bay is designed to provide protection against 7.62×51 SC ammunition, 7.62×51 M80 NATO Ball ammunition and tested to meet NIJ-STD-0108.01 Level III / CEN Level B6 ballistic standards. The floor is fitted with blast protection to defend occupants against fragmentation from the detonation of 2 DM-51 German ordnance hand grenades or equivalent light anti-personnel mines. Each armor plate is laboratory tested and certified not only by INKAS® Armored Vehicle Manufacturing but also by third-party laboratories as required by law.
INKAS® Armored Vehicle Manufacturing facilitates the global delivery of the vehicle to all major seaports as well as it has an ability to arrange airfreight upon special request. Huron’s competitive price makes the vehicle accessible for Ministries of Defence, police and other security agencies.
Multiple add-ons and upgrades are available to make this armored vehicle suitable for any mission requirement.

The vehicle’s passenger compartment is encapsulated with certified ballistic steel, which includes the doors, roof, floor, pillars, and firewall. This creates a seamless protective capsule that eliminates weak points, safeguarding occupants from all angles against high-powered rifle fire and explosive blasts. Integrated directly into the vehicle’s frame, it ensures uncompromised security in high-risk scenarios.

Engineered to withstand direct hits from high-caliber rounds while preserving optimal visibility and transparency. This multi-layer, ballistic glass is installed throughout the vehicle, including the windshield, side windows, and rear window, matching OEM curvature specifications to maintain discretion. When required, a heavy-duty window opener is installed to optimize the functionality and performance, fully ensuring protection without compromising situational awareness or vehicle aesthetics.
A proprietary INKAS® design that reinforces the vulnerable seams where the doors meet the frame with a ballistic steel overhang. This system eliminates potential entry points for projectiles, ensuring that no gaps exist around the edges of the doors. Seamlessly integrated into the structure of the vehicle as well as the overall cabin design, the armored overlap system offers an additional layer of protection without altering the vehicle’s original appearance.
A ballistic steel and glass barrier is installed between the passenger cabin and the cargo area, designed to prevent threats from penetrating via the rear of the vehicle. Custom-engineered to the vehicle’s interior, it maintains full trunk functionality while adding critical protection against rear-entry attacks. The bulkhead integrates seamlessly into the armored capsule, preserving vehicle balance, visibility, and interior fitment.
A swing-out door enables direct access between the cabin and the rear cargo area while maintaining full ballistic protection. The armored capsule surrounds the entire vehicle interior, ensuring continuous protection with no separation between compartments. The rear cargo area remains armored and accessible without compromising passenger safety.

Each wheel is reinforced with a durable polycarbonate insert that allows the vehicle to remain operational even after a tire puncture or blowout. This runflat system maintains control and stability for distances up to 50 km (30 mi) at speeds of up to 50 km/h (30 mph), giving occupants the critical time needed to evacuate a threat zone. Seamlessly integrated into the wheel assembly, it ensures continuous mobility through high-pressure situations or rugged terrain navigation.
The vehicle’s fuel tank is encased in precision laser-cut steel, engineered to protect it from ammunition impact, shrapnel, and blast fragments. The reinforced enclosure minimizes the risk of fuel leakage or ignition, significantly reducing the likelihood of fire or explosion. This system ensures the fuel supply remains secure and stable, maintaining full operational capability in demanding conditions.
The battery and electronic control module (ECM) are housed in a reinforced armored enclosure that shields vital electronic and power components from ballistic impact, heat, and debris. This protection system prevents operational failures and minimizes the risk of damage caused by blasts or fire infiltration. It’s built to extend mission endurance while preserving vehicle functionality and reliability.
